Happy Friday, Stock Region fam!
Another wild week has come to a close. The market feels as if it’s holding its breath—tech giants are making massive moves, AI infrastructure is hitting speed bumps, and crypto delivers its usual rollercoaster routine.
On today’s watchlist: a mix of dependable names and high-flying tech that never fails to surprise. Here’s the breakdown for Friday, December 19, 2025.
☁️ Oracle ($ORCL): The Giant Awakens (Again)
Oracle reported a beast of a quarter—revenue is up 14% year-over-year to $16.1 billion. But the real jaw-dropper? Remaining performance obligations surged over 400% to $520 billion. That’s an incredible amount of future work locked in.
Thoughts: The market reaction this week raised eyebrows. A 5% dip because Blue Owl Capital walked away from a data center deal feels like an overreaction. Oracle already confirmed the project remains on track with alternative funding. With a hefty $300 billion OpenAI partnership, betting against Oracle feels risky right now. The valuation at 30x earnings is rich, but AI demand shows no signs of slowing. This dip is worth watching closely.
📉 CoreWeave ($CRWV): Growing Pains
CoreWeave has been an AI world darling this year, up nearly 70% YTD. But that 46% drop over the past six weeks has stung. Construction delays and short-seller reports have been a tough combination.
Thoughts: Infrastructure is tough. Building massive data centers is not the same as spinning up a server instance—setbacks happen, and schedules slip. Panic selling here might just present an opportunity. CoreWeave remains the go-to GPU provider for giants like OpenAI. For believers in the ongoing AI story, CoreWeave is still a key player. Caution is warranted, though—this one remains volatile.
Watch For: Upside above $72.00 | Downside below $70.69
👟 Nike ($NKE): The Comeback Kid
At last, some good news for the Swoosh! A 10% revenue growth stands out, and digital revenue rising 15% is a positive sign. The direct-to-consumer strategy is delivering, and the new sustainable lines (Move to Zero) are getting great feedback.
Thoughts: Nike has received criticism in the past for seeming stale, but those days may be over. A 44.3% gross margin in retail is impressive. The brand’s energy is back, especially on the SNKRS app. Nike’s stability provides welcome reassurance in a chaotic tech market.
Watch For: Upside above $59.30 | Downside below $58.30
🪙 Coinbase ($COIN): The Crypto Heartbeat
Revenue is up 24% sequentially. The user base keeps growing despite intense regulatory pressure. With Bitcoin hovering near $85k, Coinbase is sitting in a great position.
Thoughts: The relationship with crypto stocks remains a tricky one, but Coinbase consistently proves to be the mature player. Diversification into infrastructure is promising, offering less reliance on retail trading fees alone. Still, volatility remains high—one bad news cycle can swing prices by 10%. This pick is best suited for those ready to embrace the risk.
Watch For: Upside above $247.36 | Downside below $243.68
That wraps up this week. Enjoy the weekend, spend some time offline, and resist that urge to check the charts until Monday. The Stock Region crew will be here, ready for the next ride.
Best,
