Grab your coffee, lock in, and take a breath. If the last two weeks on the tape taught us anything, it’s that small-cap momentum never sleeps—it just rotates when you aren’t looking. We’ve been sifting through an absolute avalanche of press releases from October 12th through the 23rd, and honestly, some of these headlines made us sit right up in our chairs while others had us raising a skeptical eyebrow.
Before we dive into the madness of the markets, let’s ground ourselves with a piece of timeless wisdom we haven’t shared here before:
“Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” — Proverbs 16:8–9
In a market that constantly tempts you to chase every shiny object and over-leverage for a quick buck, keeping your integrity, your discipline, and your peace of mind is worth more than any pre-market gapper. Plan your trades, manage your risk, and walk steady.
Let’s get into the watchlist and break down what actually matters.
1. The AI Infrastructure, Compute & Robotics Wave
Everyone wants to slap “AI” on their company name right now, and frankly, half of the time it feels like pure buzzword soup. However, when we see tangible hardware, power distribution, and hospital logistics attached to the press release, we pay attention.
$XLAB (Exascale Labs): This one showed real teeth on October 16th—ripping 21% pre-market to $1.71 on 3.6M volume after selling 12 Nvidia HGX B300 GPU servers plus 36 months of IT operation services to Sunon for $8.2M. Our take: $8.2M in actual revenue for Blackwell-generation server deployment is no joke. Watch for continuation if volume holds above average.
$SLNH (Soluna Holdings): Announced a Joint Venture with Applied Digital for a 50 MW Texas AI Data Center (Applied holds 51%), alongside a non-binding lease LOI with ChronoScale. Our take: Partnering with a heavy hitter like Applied Digital validates Soluna’s power infrastructure play. We love data center power plays right now.
$SGRX (SANGRIX): Set a November 2026 delivery schedule for a 128-GPU NVIDIA Blackwell B300 project in Malaysia. Our take: Delivery is right around the corner. If they execute on schedule next month, this could stay on momentum radars.
$GIXI (Gix Internet): Bringing “Physical AI” to hospital logistics—their robots are now delivering blood and bone marrow at one of the world’s top 10 hospitals. Our take: This legitimately gave us chills. Forget chatbots; robots carrying bone marrow in top-tier hospitals is the kind of real-world utility that builds long-term conviction.
$MASK (3 E Network): Signed a core 9 MVA power distribution agreement for the Mikkeli AI Compute Center in Finland. Our take: Compute means nothing without megawatts. Securing the power grid is step one.
$DAIC (Dot Ai): Closed a massive $65 million all-stock acquisition of Envoy Technologies. Our take: All-stock deals always make us watch the float and dilution closely, so tread carefully, even if the scale of the expansion is impressive.
$OLOX (Olenox): Acquired IPD Industries and Wildboy Holdings in a $22M deal to expand its AI and digital infrastructure strategy. Our take: Ambitious roll-up strategy—let’s see how the balance sheet absorbs it.
$DCX: Teamed up with Whales AI via a strategic investment and exclusive commercialization agreement to push AI-powered STEM education robotics in North America. Our take: STEM robotics is a crowded space, so they’ll need strong school-district adoption to prove the hype.
$SPRC (SciSparc) &$ZTG (Zenta Group): SciSparc announced a transformation into “Agentic AI-Powered Technologies” for cybersecurity and finance, while Zenta Group’s subsidiary ZentoAI signed a binding MOU for a strategic acquisition. Our take: We’re going to be brutally honest here—when a biotech or holding company suddenly pivots to “Agentic AI,” our skeptical radar goes off. Trade the volume if it moves, but don’t marry the story until you see real contracts.
2. Biotech & MedTech: The High-Conviction Catalysts
Biotech has been electric lately. Between GLP-1 follow-ups, FDA priority reviews, and Long COVID trials, there is serious meat on the bone here.
$GUTS (Fractyl Health): Their Revita procedure met its six-month co-primary endpoint in the REMAIN-1 pivotal study, showing a highly statistically significant reduction in weight regain after patients stop taking GLP-1 drugs. Our take: This might be the sleeper story of the month. Millions of people eventually cycle off Ozempic/Wegovy and gain the weight right back. Solving the “off-ramp” problem for GLP-1s is a massive multibillion-dollar market opportunity.
$CRMD (CorMedix): The FDA accepted their Supplemental NDA for Priority Review of Rezzayo (Rezafungin) for preventing invasive fungal diseases. Our take: FDA Priority Review is one of our favorite catalysts in biotech. It shortens the review clock and signals the FDA sees a serious unmet need.
$MRKR (Marker Therapeutics): Awarded a $2.6M FDA Orphan Products Development Grant to advance MT-601 in pancreatic cancer. Our take: Non-dilutive government funding for one of the toughest cancers on earth? We are rooting hard for this team.
$SCNI (Scinai Immunotherapeutics): Expanded its CDMO business with a $5.1M development and clinical manufacturing agreement with a US Nasdaq-listed biopharma. Our take: For a micro-cap biotech, landing a $5.1M manufacturing contract brings in crucial cash flow to keep the lights on without relying solely on offerings.
$IVVD (Invivyd): Initiated the FLINTLOCK Phase 2 trial with SPEAR Study Group evaluating high-dose monoclonal antibody VYD2311 for Long COVID and Post-Vaccination Syndrome. Our take: Long COVID remains a massive clinical blind spot; if Phase 2 data shows real efficacy, this will attract major headlines.
$MEDS (DataMEDS SI): Helomics received a Medicaid coverage policy for its ChemoFx assay in gynecologic cancers. Our take: Reimbursement coverage is the bridge between cool science and actual revenue. Huge step.
$INO (INOVIO): Scored a favorable judgment in its litigation with VGXI and GeneOne Life Science. Our take: Clearing legal overhang is always a relief for shareholders who have been stuck in the mud.
$DRMA (Dermata Therapeutics) &$TCRT (Alaunos/Paragon): $DRMA dropped positive topline cosmetic clinical results for its once-weekly Tome skin treatment, while$TCRT expanded its leadership with former Apogee executives following the Velaris acquisition. Our take: Good incremental progress for both, though cosmetic studies and exec hires usually need follow-up commercialization numbers to sustain a rally.
3. Defense, Drones, Space & Next-Gen Comms
Geopolitical tension and municipal safety upgrades keep driving dollars into defense tech, drones, and hardened satellites.
$DPRO (Draganfly): Established a dedicated U.S. defense subsidiary and appointed former Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Modly as Chairman. Our take: You don’t bring in a former Acting Secretary of the Navy unless you are aggressively hunting for serious Pentagon contracts. Big credibility boost.
$SIDU (Sidus Space): Locked in over $3 million in space and defense manufacturing awards in Q3. Our take: Sidus knows how to generate contract PRs; watching to see how these awards translate into margin expansion on the next earnings call.
$SAIQ (SEALSQ): Alongside WISeSat.Space, they advanced satellite cybersecurity hardening as FOSSA launched a new 6U satellite aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9. Our take: Space cybersecurity is only going to grow as low-Earth orbit gets more congested.
$HLSQ (Zorronet): Secured an initial commercial order for its Edge AI systems from a leading global defense company. Our take: The “initial order” is the foot in the door; follow-on orders are where the real money is made.
$PRSO (Peraso): Received a production order exceeding $2.0 million for 60 GHz fixed wireless access deployment. Our take: Solid, tangible hardware order for a company that thrives on millimeter-wave tech.
$XTIA & $YMAT: Evolver DFR ($XTIA) debuted a “Drone as First Responder” program for public safety agencies, while J-Star Holding ($YMAT) is negotiating a Houston-area facility acquisition to advance U.S. drone manufacturing. Our take: Onshoring drone manufacturing and putting drones in police/fire departments is a clear secular trend for 2026 and beyond.

Final Thoughts for the Week Ahead
If we had to narrow our focus down to the purest fundamental stories from this batch, $GUTS (solving GLP-1 weight regain), $XLAB (selling actual Nvidia B300 servers), $CRMD (FDA Priority Review), and $DPRO (bringing in top Navy leadership) stand out from the noise. Keep your alerts set, don’t chase extended green candles at 9:30 AM, and protect your capital at all costs.
