What a wildly eventful day we had on the market! Some days you just stare at the ticker waiting for something to happen, and other days the news hits you like a freight train. Today was definitely the latter.
We saw massive corporate acquisitions, incredible breakthroughs in medical science, and legal clouds finally parting for companies that desperately needed a break. I am absolutely buzzing about a few of these developments, so let us dive right into the watchlist and break down what happened.
Amazon Makes a Massive Leap Into Space ($AMZN)
I have to admit, my jaw dropped a bit when this news crossed the wire. Amazon just agreed to acquire satellite company Globalstar. This is a massive leap forward for their e-commerce business and their “Leo” space-based Wi-Fi initiative.
But here is the kicker that really got my attention: Amazon also signed a massive agreement with Apple. They are going to provide satellite connectivity for current and future iPhones and Apple Watches. This partnership is built entirely on the back of an existing deal Apple already had with Globalstar. In my opinion, this shows just how aggressive Amazon is getting with its infrastructure. They are not just dominating earth anymore; they want the stars, too. Keep a very close eye on how this tech integration rolls out.
A Ray of Hope for Liver Health ($HOTH)
This one really tugs at the heartstrings because it impacts so many people. Hoth Therapeutics announced some incredibly positive data today from their HT-VA study. They are working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Emory University, which brings a ton of credibility to the table.
They demonstrated that parenteral GDNF (Glial Cell-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) directly reprograms liver fat metabolism at the genetic level. They tested this in a preclinical model of metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Fatty liver disease is a silent, growing epidemic. Seeing early science tackle this directly at the genetic level gives me so much hope. If they can move this successfully through clinical trials, it could be an absolute game-changer for millions of patients.
A Massive Weight Lifted ($AGAE)
We all know how ugly corporate lawsuits can get. They drain cash, they kill morale, and they terrify investors. Well, Allied Gaming & Entertainment finally caught a massive break.
They announced today that they reached a comprehensive resolution of all outstanding legal matters. The legal proceedings are fully closed, and they executed a term sheet setting the framework for the resolution. My take? Relief. Total relief. Now the management team can actually get back to running the company instead of sitting in depositions. A clean slate often brings fresh momentum, so I will be watching this chart closely over the next few weeks.
Fresh Capital Injection ($GBR)
Finally, let us look at New Concept Energy. They just entered into a subscription agreement to sell 2 million common shares to Realty Advisors at exactly $1 per share.
Whenever a company secures fresh capital through a direct deal like this, it always makes me curious about what they plan to do with the cash. Two million dollars is a solid chunk of change to put to work. It sets a very clear psychological price level at that $1 mark. Let us see how the market digests this new share block.
