The EU's aluminum export restriction is a perfect example of how deglobalization is creating real opporunities for domestic producers. The point about Alcoa potentally gaining pricing power as European scrap stays in the EU is something the market hasn't fully priced in yet. Combined with the push for onshoring manufacuring, we could see a fundamental shift in the supply demand dynamics for industrial metals over the next few years.
